What The Thoughts : Why White Trash Mobile Podcast?

Why this name? Mostly because of my white junk car. Deep down though, I have always wanted to interview people. Since the age of fourteen, I would sit down in the hustling, bustling city streets and randomly talk to strangers. You could find me at local tourist traps, at the pits of train stations, coffee shops giving tarot readings, or sitting on a bench sharing leftovers people would hand over to me and my friends. There was always a new day and a new story. The common denominator: I really enjoyed listening to people talk. I loved hearing their stories, and I didn’t care what social status they were in. I would listen, and I was wholeheartedly grateful for all the individuals who shared a story with me.

Growing tired of traditional social media outlets due to the fact that we lost that human connection, I wanted to start this podcast to connect again, the way I had for so many years before getting lost in algorithms. My hope is to change the current dynamic by bringing the conversation back to the community and getting to know what is happening here, locally. Instead of doomscrolling and feeling isolated and depleted after wasting hours on social media, I would like to bring back the real-life conversations with people from all areas of life, with a variety of opinions, hopes, and dreams. Social media has become a drama-filled popularity contest with a sole purpose of gaming the system to get more views. Yet, we have cool people sitting next to us.

We have developed into a world where going viral is more appealing than having dinner without distractions with your loved ones or even your neighbors. Where being the next YouTube celebrity is the dream of the next generation. We should be building healthier relationships, not basing our lives on the good or extreme moments that people post on the internet. We forgot how to be boring, in a sense.

Social media has lost its charm for me. I am looking to reconnect with anyone willing to share their story, their heart, their life lessons, their dreams, their inspirations. You can be a chef, a mom, a psychologist, a body language expert, or any creative type or specialist. Everyone has something to share about themselves and by sharing that something, it could benefit one or two people in the community.

I am not looking for this podcast to be famous. I am looking for real people to meet in my area and get to know their hearts while doing something I love…listening.
